ALIGARH, March 12: The Research Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (RIED) Cell of the Faculty of Unani Medicine, Aligarh Muslim University, organised its first invited lecture-cum-interactive session featuring Prof. Syed Fahad Anwer of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, an expert in innovation and incubation.

Prof. Syeda Aamena Naaz, Chairperson of the RIED Cell, delivered the welcome address and outlined the objectives of the Cell, emphasizing the need to promote research, innovation, and entrepreneurial thinking among students and faculty associated with the Unani system of medicine.

In his lecture, Prof. Anwer highlighted the growing importance of research and innovation in traditional systems of medicine. He stressed the need for strengthening evidence-based approaches in Unani medicine and encouraged young scholars to engage in interdisciplinary research and innovation-driven initiatives that could contribute to the global recognition of the Unani system.

The lecture was followed by an interactive session during which students and faculty sought guidance on research methodology, innovation in Unani therapeutics, funding opportunities, and academic career prospects.

In his presidential remarks, Prof. S. M. Safdar Ashraf, Dean, Faculty of Unani Medicine, appreciated the initiative of the RIED Cell and emphasized the importance of fostering a research-oriented academic environment.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Zameer Ahmad, Coordinator of the RIED Cell, while the programme was conducted by Dr. Abdul Aziz Khan, Convener of the session.

Principal, Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College, Prof. Badrudduja Khan, along with faculty members, postgraduate scholars, and undergraduate students of the Faculty of Unani Medicine, attended the programme.
