Aligarh, April 12: The Department of Petroleum Studies at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) concluded its one-week National Workshop-cum-Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on the use of Artificial Intelligence in teaching and research. The valedictory function, marked by insightful deliberations on the future of academia and technology, celebrated the integration of modern innovation with the historic ethos of the university.

The Chief Guest of the event, Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. M. Mohsin Khan, underscored the paramount importance of such academic initiatives and encouraged all present to organise similar forward-looking programmes.

He also distributed certificates to the participants.

In his opening remarks, he addressed the general apprehensions associated with adapting to new technologies, particularly the fear of losing human ability and integrity. He eloquently dismantled this stigma, explaining the critical requirements of the modern era and the monumental achievements made possible through the thoughtful adoption of technological advancements.

Prof. Abid Ali Khan, Director, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), emphasized the practical utility of AI in creating robust data platforms. He noted that AI-driven data collection is becoming increasingly instrumental in enhancing the academic rankings and global standing of educational institutions.
